AboutAbout Everything :PAbout the StoryNew to the comic? Here's the original description I wrote for Legend of Sarai:
For centuries, the Kingdoms of Whitehall and Hardstone peacefully ruled the lands of the great Capacious Valley. They knew little of what lay beyond their sheltering borders except for the peaceful Nungthians, the mountain dwellers of the North. Curiosity and a thirst for adventure sent able men out into the world... beyond the angry Eastern Seas, over the rugged rocks and scorching dunes of the South, past the empty plains, stinking swamps, and diseased marshes of the West.
They found something out there... and what they found ripped the Kingdoms apart and almost threw the lands into a civil war.
Nearly a hundred years later a mysterious race, known only as the Shadows, invaded Capacious Valley. Not attacking the villages directly, but systematically cutting off communication and merchant travels between them, the people in the lands of Hardstone found themselves swiftly conquered. And now, in a strange change of tactics, the Shadows are attacking the villages of Whitehall and then withdrawing. Whitehall gathers its forces for a fight, unsure how they are going to fare against these Shadow warriors.
They are outnumbered.
And there are rumors.
Are the royal family of Hardstone sequestered or are they dead? Was Pebblebrook, an Eastern fishing village destroyed mysteriously fifteen years ago, the result of a Shadow attack? Did Hardstone know the Shadows were coming? Do they know where they're from? Did they have something to do with it?
Their only hope is to learn more.
Can Micah, the son of a Whitehall Governor and a respected soldier; and Sarai, a mysterious woman who knows more than she lets on, learn the secrets of the Shadows and save Capacious Valley from the darkness before it is too late?
Find out in the Legend of Sarai! A comic coming right here on March 14, 2008!
The Legends comic is actually a series of legends based on a series of novels I had planned on writing. It's always been more important for me to get my stories told than it ever mattered in what form they came in. That used to be a choice between poem, song, novel, or short story. I'm so happy that I can have 'comic' as a choice now. xP Anywho... in reworking the stories to apply in comic form, I pretty much completely replotted the first two legends. You could even read the novels (if I had them written) and wouldn't recognize the stories. Hehe.
Be assured, however, that these stories you're investing your time and emotion into will be finished one way or another. If I ever get to the point where I don't want to draw this thing anymore, or get so busy that I feel like I need to go on indefinate hiatus, I will throw the scripts of these two legends (both are complete) at the end of the comic. I absolutely can't stand cancelled shows, series, or comics. I need closure, baby! And I promise, that within my power, you will get it. :)
It occurs to me that I talk to much. Moving on...
About the AuthorThe author is a dork. Like when she randomly writes about herself in third person because she's too shy to say anything about herself. She likes cookies. She would be perfectly happy living as a hermit... except that she needs to eat so she goes out and does the necessary. She learns and does just about everything she likes. (ex. likes games, makes games; likes books, writes books; likes comics, makes comics). And now she's off to make some cookies.About the SiteThis comic and site was and is scripted, drawn, inked, colored, coded, and otherwise by yours truly. The Manda. The work horse behind the magic is Comikaze Version 1.0 by Ashton Cummings. It's a simple and powerful program and so easy for me to understand that I was able to tweak things exactly how I wanted with no trouble at all. I absolutely love it. I'd also like to praise Tizag.com for giving me some real simple php help on the fly when I needed it.FAQI haven't been asked anything frequently yet. :p Questions or comments? Email Manda. |
